The permanent flight from the Niger and Africa is just as bad as the pell-mell retreat from Afghanistan except they never even had a strategy here to begin with - it's hard to call the mission a failure since they never even had the brains to state a mission.

The only thing they are getting better at is keeping a lid on these withdrawals so they have literally blacked out the news media on the subject. There was more transparency in Orwell's government in 1984 and at least you heard something. Here, it is like they were never there and this isn't even happening. It's the black hole of information where nothing not even light can escape.

Love it. Great article. I have some thoughts on this and some of your other work that my current series is working towards in the next few articles this week and early next. Mainly in line with how the lack of unity within different parts of the American society puts us at such a huge disadvantage with any part of the world that it's gotten to the point where, as you've said on the podcast, skinny kids committed to a cause can through themselves at a tank, and how jacked up a guy is doesn't matter.

We've been able to paper over the West's disunity for 50+ years, since the sexual revolution, but the birds are coming home to roost.
